What to do in Omeo
Winter is a great time to be in Omeo. Cold, crisp and fresh. Go out to the Oriental Claims, about three kilometres west of town, build yourself a fire and have a BBQ. Get some meat from John Pendergast at Omeo Meats, just down from the motel. His steaks and sausages are renown in the district. He supplies restaurants in town, at Dinner Plain and at Mount Hotham.
Ask Lyn and Stephen for directions out to the Mitta Mitta River, Blowhard and Benambra, to see some spectacular high country scenery.
